New Hires at SWACH
SWACH is excited to announce two new hires on our team! Janet Sanchez joins us as the new Administrative Coordinator, and Ami Hanna is our new Collaborative Impact Project Manager. Learn more about these great individuals below, and help us welcome them to our team.
Janet Sanchez
Administrative Coordinator
Originally from Jalisco, Mexico, Janet has been a part of the Southwest Washington community for the last 20 years. Having experienced barriers firsthand when it comes to accessing both healthcare and mental health services, she became a natural advocate for her family, friends, and aspirated to be a part of programs and organizations that would elevate the voices of the most vulnerable.
Janet joins SWACH with years of experience in higher education, logistics, and the non-profit sector. She has worked with parents concerning the challenges of raising children with behavioral conditions and the struggle it can be to find the appropriate help due to being uninsured or unaware of their Medicaid benefits. She firmly believes in the importance of bringing attention to systemic structures that prevent equity and growing accessibility and creating outreach programs that will reduce health care challenges and bring services directly to communities previously not served.
Janet and her family love going on hikes – They will spend every summer weekend going either camping or crossing off another national park visit. She is also a big fan of music concerts, nerdy retro games/movies, and traveling.
Ami Hanna
Collaborative Impact Project
Manager
Experienced in both direct service and systemic transformation, Ami is passionate about leveraging community-based research, policy, and advocacy to find creative, equitable, and pragmatic answers to health issues in the Pacific Northwest.
Prior to joining the SWACH team, she applied her community engagement, policy development, and project management skills to COVID-19 prevention and maternal health quality improvement efforts in Washington and Oregon.
Ami holds a BA in Medical Anthropology from Western Washington University and a Master’s in Public Health in Health Systems and Population Health from the University of Washington. She also earned a graduate certificate in nonprofit management and is a trained full-spectrum doula. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and exploring new hikes in Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
